Anthony Curry, Öckerö
Anthony (Tony) Curry, father of two,
was president of the Social Welfare Committee, District (SDN) Bergsjön, in the
1990s.
On September 30, 1997, the newspaper, Arbetet
Nyheterna (Work News) published an article about the conflict
between social welfare officers in
Bergsjön and the social committee. The Radio program, “Studio One in Radio One” (19/12
1997) informed that since the year
before, the social welfare officers, due to "health and safety reasons"
no longer presented their cases
themselves to the politicians, instead
this was done by someone who was not involved in the investigations. According to the head safety
officer, who was supported
by the Labour Inspectorate, the politicians had violated
the social workers in serious ways. The
alleged violations mainly consisted
in the social welfare committee’s demands for proper
investigations and that they had returned substandard investigations and
demanded reports.
